Hunt the West as it was meant to be.
Our base of operations is near the town of Challis, Idaho. From Challis it is 1 1/2 hour drove to the trailhead. At the trailhead it is a 1-3 hour horseback ride to our basecamp The first and last days of your adventure are travel days. Our base camp features roomy heated wall tents with padded cots. We bring breakfast to your warm tent in teh morning. Lunch is eaten in the field. Depending on the type of hunt we may hike or horseback ride to productive locations. Often, your return to camp is after dark. Evening at camp includes a freshly prepared dinner unsurpassed in any other hunting camp. Our hunting range is in a challenging mountainous setting of mixed sagebrush and pine forest. This is rugged terrain with brush, open hillsides and valleys that are well suited for great visibility and for covering a log of ground either on horseback or on foot. The area has been recognized by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game to have one of the highest elk bull to cow ratios in the state and the area has bragging rights for some of the largest bulls taken in the state.
We take a very limited number of hunters each year to insure a quality, personalized memorable experience. Because of this, our hunts book quickly. We do require a deposit at the time of your reservation. We help you with securing your license and tags as well as guiding you through the controlled hunt process. After your hunt is confirmed we send you additional information to help you plan your hunting adventure.
